CARLSON Marguerite Yvette (nee Briand), was born on February 7, 1942 in Drumheller, Alberta, passed away on March 28, 2009 in Kelowna, BC. She was predeceased by her father Jacques, mother Marie and son-in-law Guerino (Woody) DiLello. Marguerite was a loving wife, mother and grandmother; very much missed by her husband Bob, daughter Katherine DiLello, son Robert Jr. and his wife Sandra Lee and their daughter Jesselyn all residing in Kelowna and her sisters Rose Marie Briand and Therese Briand living in Calgary and many relatives in France. Born and raised in Drumheller, Marguerite moved to Calgary after marrying Bob in 1962. During her years in Alberta, she attended Drumheller High School, Hanna Secretarial College, Red Deer College and the University of Alberta (Edmonton). Her working career included positions with Zeller's (Forest Lawn), the Hudson's Bay (Calgary and Red Deer), Royal Trust (Red Deer), Michener Centre (Red Deer) and the Government of Canada (Edmonton). In 1987 Marguerite moved from Edmonton to join her husband Bob in Atlanta, Georgia, where she took a position at the Lawrenceville library. She retired in 1995 and when Bob retired in 2001, they moved to Kelowna where she resided until her sudden death. Marguerite enjoyed the arts, fine wine and travel. Unfortunately her health did not permit her to get out much in her final years. Friends and relatives will be notified of a Celebration of Marguerite's life at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the BC Heart & Stroke Foundation, 4-1551 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 9M9.
