Marguerite WHITEHEAD

WHITEHEAD Marguerite Joan Whitehead passed away on November 21, 2005, after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her husband Ray Whitehead and their two daughters, Cindy and Karen Whitehead, both of Calgary. Joan completed her nursing training at the Calgary General Hospital in 1958, and since that time, she had worked at the Calgary General Hospital, Red Deer General Hospital and the Fanning Centre (Calgary). Joan had various interests and passions such as needlework, gardening, porcelain painting, ceramics, and a love of animals. Her compassion was always extended to those around her and she displayed a great sense of faith and devotion to her Church. We would like to extend a big thank you to Dr. Schorr and to the staff of Unit 37 for the outstanding compassionate care given to Joan for the last seven weeks. We invite family and friends to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Bow Valley Chapel), 2526 – 24 Avenue N.W. Calgary, on Thursday, November 24, 2005. Viewing will commence at 9:00 a.m. with the funeral to follow at 10:00 a.m. Internment will be at the Horn Hill Cemetery at 2:15 p.m. Donations can be made in Joan’s memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 105, 7500 Macleod Trail SE, Calgary, AB T2H 0L9 or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 200, 119 – 14 Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6.
