DEN OUDSTEN, Maria (Mary) September 22, 1935 – December 21, 2006 "The Lord redeems the soul of his servants." Psalms 34:22 Mary Den Oudsten went to be with her Lord at 71 years of age. Mary was born in Tienhoven, Holland. She immigrated to Canada in 1956 with her new husband Jake. They moved around the Calgary area until they settled on their family farm northwest of Lacombe in 1967. Mary enjoyed visiting with people. She was busy in her church, community and family. Mary's grandchildren were her special gifts. Mary leaves to mourn her husband Jake of 51 years, 6 children and 19 grandchildren. Mom felt blessed to have her immediate family all still living in the Lacombe area. Case and Rosalie - Karen, Paul and Mark; Wilma; Nick and Veronica - Nahani, Aaron, Kescia and Logan; Peter and Emma - George and Richarla, Sharon, Philip and Miriam; Marlene and John Ekkel - Jeff, Dustin, Kayla and Trevor; Dean and Tracy - Caden, Dakota and Kenydi. She also leaves a sister Janny, two brothers Gijs and Jan and numerous relatives in Holland. Mary was predeceased by an infant grandchild Helen and daughter-in-law Edith. Funeral Services will be held at Woodynook Church on Wednesday, December 27, at 1:30 p.m., with interment to follow at Woodynook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial contributions to the Lacombe Christian School, 5206-58 St. Lacombe T4L1G9.
