Marian TRUDEL

TRUDEL Marian Francisca Trudel of Red Deer formerly of Edmonton, passed away suddenly at Red Deer Regional Hospital on Friday, May 5, 2006 at the age of 83 years. Marian is survived by her three children; Mike (Ev) and their two children Ryan and Katelyn of Kelowna, BC., Jennifer (Reg Steele) and their four children, Lindsay, Trevor, Lara and Taylor of Red Deer, AB, as well as Lionel (Karen) and their two boys, Joseph and James of Vancouver, B.C. Marion was predeceased by her husband Vic Trudel in September 1997. Marian came to Canada from Holland in 1952 and completed her nursing diploma at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. In 1955 she moved to Edmonton, AB and that is where she met Vic and the two were married on February 27, 1960. Marian worked for the Victorian Order of Nursing for years and then at the Lynwood Extended Care Hospital where she worked until 1986 when she retired. She still remained very active volunteering following her retirement with the Lynwood Auxiliary and Meals on Wheels. After Vic’s passing in 1997 she moved to Grande Prairie, AB where Jenny and Reg were living to be closer to her grandchildren. In 2000 Reg was transferred to Red Deer and Marian moved as well. Marian will be lovingly remembered by all her nieces and nephews and their families in Holland, as well as her family and many friends in Canada. A Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5508 – 48A Avenue, Red Deer, AB on Thursday, May 11th, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. with The Reverend Father Don Stein Celebrant. Memorial donations may be directed to The Arthritis Society, 4730 Ross Street, Red Deer, AB T4N 1X2. Condolences can be forwarded to the family at www.parklandfuneralhome.com. In living memory of Marian Trudel a tree will be planted in the Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium Memorial Tree Park, Red Deer County.
