Marica (nee Dellaire)

Marica Wagner, beloved wife of Glen Wagner, passed away peacefully at the Bethany Collegeside Nursing Home on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at the age of 75 years. Marica was born on February 6, 1939 in Nesterville, ON., to Pascal and Loretta Dellaire. She was one of six girls raised in Sault Ste. Marie, ON. Marica joined the Royal Canadian Airforce in 1959 as a fighter control operator. While stationed in St. Sylvestre, QC., she met her husband. Marica married Glen in 1961 on St. Joseph's Island, ON. She was honorably discharged from the RCAF in 1963. She spent many years living on military bases with her family throughout Canada and the U.S. before settling in Red Deer in 1983. Marica worked as a civil servant from 1982 to 1997 at CFB Penhold. Marica had many passions in life. She loved having her family together for the holidays and enjoyed playing cards and games. She joined the Art Club in Red Deer where she developed a passion for painting. She also enjoyed knitting, ceramics, and curling. Marica will be sadly missed by her husband Glen, daughter: Kathy (Brent) McKinnon and their children; Lindsay, Mitchell, and Sarah of Calgary, and daughter: Tracy (Robert) Carr and their children; Ryan and Meredith of Vernon Hills, Illinois. She will also be missed by her sisters; Theresa Dellaire, Evelyn (Ellis) Moore, and Velma (Terry) Lewis, and brother-in-law Fred Court. Marica was predeceased by Doreena (Nyle) Junor and Claudette Court. At the family's request, there will be no memorial service held at this time. A celebration of Marica's life will be held at a later date at the time of her interment at Alto Reste Cemetery.
