Marion BAYNE

BAYNE Marion Bayne of Red Deer passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Sunday March 20, 2005 after suffering a stroke. She was born May 23, 1925 in Galilee, Saskatchewan to Nels and Mary Swanson. She and Ron met in Moose Jaw while working at the same business, then they both joined the Army and Marion was stationed in Ottawa. They married on October 11, 1947 and moved to Alberta for a short time. They returned to a farm near Moose Jaw where they raised three children. In 1968 the family moved to Red Deer where she continued to raise her children. She worked for years as secretary in her churches in both Moose Jaw and Red Deer, in administrative positions in Red Deer businesses, and as a librarian at the Red Deer Public Library, the job she loved most. She later volunteered much of her time as health permitted. Lovingly remembered by her husband Ron, son Rob (Kathy) Bayne of Innisfail, daughters Joanne (Ray) Burkin of Red Deer and Doreen (Lorne) LeClair of Tofield, and remembered as “the best grandma there ever was” by grandchildren Dawn Burkin (fiancé Trevor Heath), Kimberley Burkin, Christine (Josh) Mayan and Lori Burkin all of Red Deer, Michael and Trevor Bayne of Innisfail. Marion also leaves to mourn her loss one sister, Mildred Seal of Saskatoon and numerous nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and acquaint-ances She is predeceased by her parents, two brothers, two sisters and two infant sons. Marion’s love of God, life and the pursuit of knowledge inspired all around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but there is a peace in knowing that she is in the loving arms of Jesus and in a place where there is no more pain. Those wishing to pay their respects can do so on Thursday, March 24, 2005 between 1:00 and 1:45 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (40 Holmes Street, Red Deer). A celebration of Marion’s life will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (40 Holmes Street, Red Deer) on Thursday, March 24, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Ronald Mayan officiating. No flowers, please – memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Condolences can be emailed to condolences@reddeerfuneralhome.com and will be forwarded directly to the family. Interment to be held at a later date.
