It is with heavy hearts and immense sadness that we announce that Marion passed away suddenly on December 30, 2011 at the age of 74 years at the Lacombe Hospital with her daughter Shelley at her side after a brief illness. Marion is survived by her daughters Shelley (Pete) Cretney of Lacombe, Linda Sidor of Wetaskiwin. Also left to cherish their memories of Grams are her beloved grandchildren Kenny Munn and Veronica of Ponoka, Lisa Nault and Travis of Red Deer, Cathy Markcovich (Johnson) and Brent of Ponoka, Cody (Jackie) and Tanner of Calgary; great grandchildren Tristan, Treyton Johnson, Fergus and Baby Shaemus Munn of Ponoka; also her beloved dog Laci. Sister in Law - Karen Ekeli of Camrose; nieces and nephews - Dwight, Sonja, Paul, Keith and Lorie of BC. Marion was predeceased by her mother and father William and Emma Ekeli; Brothers Chris and Herman Ekeli, Daughter Marianne Sharkey/Cassidy and Grandson Darcy Munn. Marion was born in Lacombe, Ab on July 25, 1937 to William and Emma Ekeli they resided in the Ponoka Asker District where Marion took her schooling. Marion worked for years as a Licensed Security Guard at Calgary International Airport as well as Edmonton International and Saskatoon Sask. Airport. Marion received many awards over the years for her dedication and devotion. In the starting year of 1990 Marion changed careers as she had a love and passion for cooking and baking so she worked for PTI & LRG Firms in Edmonton, which she travelled all over Alberta until she retired in 2002. Marion loved to entertain family and friends, loved camping, country music, horses, going to rodeos, sewing and travelling. At Marion's request there will be a private family interment to take place at the Ponoka Asker Cemetery and celebration of her life to be held in the spring. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. I Van Niekerk and the Nurses (Angels) on Unit A at the Lacombe Hospital for their compassionate, outstanding care and support, also to the Lacombe Ambulance Service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lacombe Palliative Care Society, Box 5576, Lacombe, Ab T4L 1X2. Expressions of sympathy may be made through
