COOKE, MARJORIE GRACE July 16, 1930 - July 12, 2006 Marjorie Grace Cooke (nee Witherell) passed away peacefully July 12, 2006, in the Red Deer General Hospital, following a short battle with cancer. Marjorie was born July 16, 1930 in Bentley, Alberta where she grew up. After grade 12 she trained as a lab technician, then spent some time working in Bermuda and Fort Fairfield, Maine until the 1970's when she returned to Bentley. She then got a job at the Red Deer Hospital where she worked for about 15 years. She married George Cooke on December 5, 1981. Marjorie is survived by one sister, Bernice Suggett and brother-in-law Irvine, 3 nieces, 3 nephews, 20 great nieces and nephews, and 9 great-great nieces and nephews, as well as many friends. She was preceded by her husband George on March 6, 2004, her parents Maurice and Mildred Witherell, brothers Norman, Stanley and sister-in-law Lorene. The family would like to thank Dr. Sandy Murray and the staff at the Red Deer General Hospital - Station 22 and the Palliative Care Unit, for their support and care. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at Wilson’s Funeral Chapel, 6120 Highway 2A, Lacombe, Alberta at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 4730A Ross Street, Red Deer, AB T4N 1X2.
