Marjorie (Gano)

Marjorie Oregonia Williams, longtime resident of Red Deer, passed away at the Grande Prairie Care Centre on Sunday, December 28th, 2014 at the age of 94 years. Marjorie was born on February 8th, 1920 in Newberg, Oregon. She married George Williams on July 10th, 1943. Marjorie had many part-time jobs while her children were growing up and worked for 20 years at the Sally Shop and retired in 1981. Marjorie and George travelled a lot and she enjoyed many trips with her sister, Lavon. In later years, she enjoyed their coffee friends at the mall. She was also a charter member of the heritage DAR. Marjorie will be sadly missed by her son, Danny (Lois), sister, Lavon (Doug Whiteside), brother-in-law, Alan Williams, nephew, Kevin (Freda) Whiteside, and several nieces and nephews in England. She will be lovingly remembered by grandchildren; Danny Jr. (Carmon) Stacey, Larry, and Barry (Krista), great-grandchildren; Darcie (Alex), Ryley, Stevie, Tara, Bailly, Darian, and Kassidy, and great-great-grandson, Jaxson. Marjorie was predeceased by her husband, George Williams, parents; John and Bessie Gano, brother, Elmer Gano, and son, Gary Williams. A Funeral Service will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820-45 Street, Red Deer, on Saturday, January 10th, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place prior to the service at 11:00 a.m. at the Alto Reste Cemetery. Memorial donations in Marjorie's honour may be made directly to the Cerebral Palsy Association of Alberta, 12001-44 Street SE, Calgary, Alberta, T2Z 4G9.
