MORRISON, Mark Stanley

It is with great sadness that we announce Mark's passing after an 11-month battle with cancer. Mark's love of life was with him until the very end, when he left with a huge smile and big hugs for his "favourite girls" - daughters Jill and Amy, and his wife and best friend, Janet Pullan.
Mark was born in Ontario, and spent his childhood in Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Alberta and British Columbia. After a 30-year career in broadcasting at CHBC in Kelowna and CFRN in Edmonton, Mark began his second career: He and Janet set out on a new adventure and opened a retail business, Valhalla Pure Outfitters, in Red Deer. Mark enjoyed the challenges of building the business as much as he relished the opportunities to hike, bike, ski and paddle, and to meet others who loved to do the same.
Mark and Janet returned to British Columbia in 2010 to begin construction of their dream home in Eagle Bay. They enjoyed designing and finishing their home and developing the property, yet still found time for hiking, kayaking and socializing with friends, neighbours and family. A trip across Canada in their new Alto trailer in 2016 fulfilled a retirement dream.
Mark was predeceased by his mother, Donna, and father, Andy, of Salmon Arm, B.C. He is survived by his wife, Janet, daughters Jill (Jason) Scofield of Hervey Bay, Australia and Amy (Curtis) Allaby of Edmonton, and his grandchildren Lucy, Ethan, Beau and Patrick of Hervey Bay, and Chase and Charlie of Edmonton. He also leaves his sister Kathy (Bill) Reed and brothers Larry (Pam) Morrison and Jeff (Paulette) Morrison, as well as numerous nieces, grandnieces, grandnephews and countless friends.
Mark will be forever treasured in our memories for the confidence, exuberance and excellence that he applied to everything in his life. We will especially remember his generosity, keen wit and endearing smile.
