Martin LAURITSEN

LAURITSEN Martin Albert Lauritsen of the Eckville district succumbed to cancer at the age of 69 years, on Friday, August 18, 2006 at the Rimbey Hospital. Martin was born at the family farm on March 21, 1937 and has resided there all his life. From a young age Martin was always interested in fixing things. Many people can likely recall receiving his willing assistance with electrical problems, mechanical problems, welding, etc. He is survived by his loving wife Lisa, one stepson Daryl Nielsen, one step-grandson, two step-great grandchildren, two brothers John Lauritsen of Eckville and Hans (Kay) Lauritsen of Olds, five sisters Betty Lauritsen of Red Deer, Annie Luoma of Benalto, Mabel Lund of Benalto, Edith Lauritsen of Red Deer and Esther Mockford of Eckville, four sisters-in-law Elsie (John) Skage of Red Deer, Isabel Anderson of Red Deer, Dorothy (Otis) Freelove of Red Deer, Alice Matson of B.C., numerous nephews, nieces and a host of friends. Martin was predeceased by his parents Tom and Julia Lauritsen. Funeral Services for Martin will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at the Gilby Community Hall with burial to follow at the Gilby Cemetery.
