1954 - 2014
Martina Hermana Theresia Baumgarte of Innisfail passed away peacefully at the Rosefield Centre in Innisfail on December 12, 2014. Martina was born in Rotterdam, Holland and came to Canada at an early age with her family. Martina enjoyed singing and deeply loved her four legged companion, Cujo. She also liked wildlife, especially wolves. Over the last few years, Martina faced a number of personal and health challenges, but through them all, maintained an upbeat, positive attitude. A sincere "Thank You" goes to Dr. Barker and the nursing staff of the Rosefield Long Term Care Centre in Innisfail. Martina is survived by her brother Ron; and sisters Maria (Dan) Marianych and Yvonne (Edward) Klop. A private family memorial service and urn interment will take place in the spring. Memorial donations in Martina's honor may be made directly to the Medicine River Wildlife Centre, Box 115, Spruce View, AB T0M 1V0.
