Mrs. Mary Burchnall of Parksville, BC passed away at The Gardens at Qualicum Beach Jan. 11, 2017 at the age of 95.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Ed Burchnall of 40 years at Parksville BC, son Gene (Maxine) Winchester of Red Deer, grandson Gerry of Santiago, Chile, granddaughter Gay (Mark) of Palm Coast, Florida - grandson Gid (Tera) of Red Deer and two great-grandchildren Kole and Kennedy of Red Deer. She is also remembered by her extended family, Jim (Shelly) Burchnall of Parksville, BC, Neil and Don Burchnall of Red Deer AB, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents Cory and Ruth Lakeman, two brothers, and one sister. Mary loved to write poetry, sew, crochet, and in early years loved horses and rodeo - she was also a life member of the Cloverdale Legion Ladies Auxiliary, holding many executive positions. While in Red Deer she worked at Eatons as a drape maker for 7 1/2 years and was with Social Services Community Health for the Alberta Government until her retirement in 1984. She and Ed then retired to White Rock BC in 1986 where they resided until Dec. 2016 - then moving to Parksville one month before her passing. A special thanks to Jim and Shelly Burchnall. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date in Cloverdale, BC.
