BOWMAN Mary Evelyn It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Bowman of Sylvan Lake announces her passing on December 5th 2008. Mary was born in Cardston, Alberta on July 14th, 1927 to parents Evan and Dora Evans. Mary grew up north of Taber where she attended school. After graduating high school, she went to Lamont where she became a Registered Nurse and met her husband Gordon Bowman. After graduation she moved to Bonneville to start her career and on December 26th 1951 Mary and Gordon were married at Smokey Lake. Mary and Gordon lived in various communities throughout Alberta (Ponoka, Alix, Holden, Provost and Sylvan Lake) for the past 41 years. Mary is survived by her husband Gordon of 57 years; brother Dr. Brian Evans of Edmonton; children Brian Bowman, Rick (Debbie) Bowman of Sylvan Lake, Gary (Sheila) Bowman of Lacombe, Barb (Blaine) Hanson of Red Deer; as well as 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Mary was predeceased by her brother Evan; mother Dora; father Evan and sister Gwen. A Celebration of Mary's Life will be held at the Memorial Presbyterian Church, 5020-48th Street, Sylvan Lake, Alberta on Thursday, December 11, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. Cremation entrusted to Rocky Mountain Crematorium. Mary's family would like to thank the Sylvan Lake RCMP, EMS and a special thank to Jennifer of Victim Services.
