SPENCE Maureen Spence passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, August 30, 2005 at the age of 66 years. She joins her husband, Mick, her parents, Alfred and Violet Lavergne and her brother, Gerald. Maureen grew up in Ottawa with her three brothers and her parents. She met and married Mick in September 1958. Mick and Maureen traveled the world before settling in Red Deer. Maureen will be greatly missed by her favorite grandchildren, Graham and Ginny Reed, her son, Steve, her daughter, Sandy and favorite son-in-law, Dean Reed, her son, Bob and Shirley and their children, Melissa (son, Kaden), Elizabeth and Olivia. She will be lovingly remembered by her brothers, Gary (Lucie) Lavergne, George Lavergne and her sister-in-law, Shirley Lavergne. Her memory will be treasured by Mick’s brothers, Don (Dorothy) Spence, Lynn (Wally) Spence and Vern (Bernie) Spence, as well as Mick’s sisters, Marg (Ken) Blair and Wendy (Darryl) Whillans. Maureen will be sadly missed by her adopted daughter, Veena, adopted granddaughter, Telisha, many cousins, nieces and nephews and many special friends. A Public Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5508 – 48A Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation entrusted to the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. Interment will follow at the Alto-Reste Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta.
