1934-2023  ~  Mr. Maxwell Ernest Cox of Red Deer, Alberta passed away suddenly on Friday, January 20, 2023, at the age of 88 years. Maxwell was born in Manitoba to Alfred and Daisy Cox. He was raised there until he joined the Military and was shipped off to the Korean War. Maxwell was a decorated soldier.
In 1980, he started and ran a successful Bumper business. Somewhere in his busy life, he found the time to get his Pilot's License to fly a Cessna.
He was a fixer at heart and could fix almost anything. Problem-solving was a big character trait of his. His main passion later in life was training and working with young horses. He was dedicated to showing, penning, and cutting. He was riding and training a young cutting horse until the day before his passing.
When he was eighty-five, he took up golfing in Arizona and he excelled at it - six days a week.
Maxwell will be missed by his beloved wife, Betty; his children, Tara Lee, Barbara (Norm), and Brent (Michele). He will also be sadly missed by his youngest brother, Wayne (Barb), as well as numerous other family members and dear friends.
Maxwell was predeceased by his daughter, Elaine; his son, Kevin; his parents, Alfred and Daisy; his sisters, Wilma, Donelda, Gloria and Margaret; and his brothers, Reg, Ken and Jim.
A Private Family Service will be held at a later date. If desired, Memorial Donations in Maxwell's honor may be made directly to the Central Alberta Humane Society at www.cahumane.com or to a charity specifically helping horses.
