McGLADRIE 1920- 2008 Mr. John Gammel "Jack" McGladrie of Red Deer, passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at the age of 87 years. Jack was born on July 3, 1920 at Erskine, Alberta. He farmed the McGladrie homestead and drove the Alpha cream truck until moving to Red Deer in 1967, where he delivered dairy products until retiring. He enjoyed volunteering and being a member of the Downtown House, Red Deer. Jack will always be remembered as a devoted husband and caregiver, father and grandfather. His integrity, wisdom, kind and caring nature will be sadly missed by all. Jack is survived by a daughter, Donna Smith of Calgary, Alberta, a son, John (Jocelyn) McGladrie of Chase, British Columbia, a brother, Andy (Swea) McGladrie of Wetaskiwin, Alberta, a sister, Hazel Carruthers of New Westminister, British Columbia, three grandsons, Clinton Smith of Calgary, David Smith and Michael Smith both of Edmonton. He was predeceased by his wife, Alma in 1996 and five siblings. A Funeral Service will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820-45 Street, Red Deer on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation entrusted to Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer.
