McKENNA Colin Joseph Colin Joseph McKenna passed away peacefully on Friday October 9, 2009 at his home in Fort McMurray, AB at the age of 52 years. Colin is survived by his loving daughters; Jillian and Jennifer of Calgary, AB and Katie of Fort McMurray, AB; his parents James and Catherine of Cambridge, ON; brother James of Calgary, AB; and sisters ; Kathleen of Toronto, ON; Shelagh of Bowmanville, ON; and Christine of Toronto, ON. He was predeceased by his brother Paul. Colin will be missed by many aunts and uncles, including Agnes Weston and Carmel Perrin of Cambridge, ON, as well as his nieces and nephews, cousins and a multitude of friends. Colin was born in Cambridge, ON on May 12, 1957. After graduating from Galt Collegiate Institute, he moved to Calgary in 1977. Colin’s passion for architecture led him to a position with Renex Construction. His success there, coupled with his engaging personality, led to wider roles in construction, renovations and sales. In 1990, Colin and family moved to Airdrie, AB where he was actively involved in his community. Whether organizing local basketball or lending his skills to Habitat for Humanity, Colin’s generous spirit was a defining characteristic. A Funeral Service for the late Colin McKenna will be held on Monday, October 19th, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Mountain View Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 17th Avenue S.E. at Garden Road, Calgary Alberta. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Colin’s memory may be made to Habitat for Humanity, 4732 - 78 A Street Close, Red Deer, AB T4P 2J2.
