SCOTT, Melvin Leroy Melvin Leroy Scott passed away July 9, 2004 at the age of 66 years in Calgary, AB surrounded by his family. He was born Sept. 14, 1937 in the town of Innisfail. He took his schooling at Ridgewood Community School west of Penhold. From there he and his family moved to Swift Current, SK where Melvin worked for asphalt services. After a few years he moved back to Alberta and went to work for Stoneway Crushing until he retired. During that time he and his family lived in Calgary for 10 years and then moved to Bowden for 6 years. He then retired in the Innisfail area and moved to Calgary where he remained until his passing. During his life, Melvin acquired many friends and enjoyed a multitude of adventures. He will be fondly remembered by family and friends. He is survived by 3 sons, Randy Scott (Carmeila) of Calgary, Mike Scott (Penny) of Innisfail, and Ken Scott (Karen), of Rocky Mountain House, mother Elsie Scott of Penhold, brother Harvey Scott (Beth) of Penhold and sister Shirley Hodgkinson of Innisfail. Melvin is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 3 nieces, and 1 nephew. Melvin was predeceased by father Percy Scott in 1984, and granddaughter Ashley Scott in 1991. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Graveside services will be held at the Innisfail Cemetery on July 14, 2004 at 1:00 pm.
