Mr. Mervyn Ray 'Merv' Grasdal passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, after a battle with lung cancer on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at the age of 64 years. Merv was born on July 22, 1955 at Tisdale, Saskatchewan, the youngest of the family. Merv called many Saskatchewan towns home, such as Swift Current, Moose Jaw, Regina, and Kindersley. He was a hardworking man and spent much of his career in Transportation and Oilfield Safety. Merv met Darlene Henne in Kindersley, Saskatchewan and they wed on June 18, 1983. They resided there for a few years and then in Saskatoon for fifteen years, before moving to Red Deer nineteen years ago. Merv will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Darlene; they were blessed with a son, Jesse and two daughters, Raelene and Emily. Their family grew with daughter-in-law, Amanda and granddaughters, Aspen and Ember. He will also be sadly missed by his siblings, Ron (Anne), Keith (Colette), Gail (Red); and their families. Merv was predeceased by his parents, Ray and Connie; and a sister, Joyce.
A Celebration of Merv's Life will be held at Kentwood Alliance Church, 4 Kennedy Drive, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 2 pm.
