CORPE


Michael Edward Corpe, 60, of Red Deer, AB, left this world suddenly on March 16th, 2017, while ice-fishing.

Mike was born on August 10th, 1956, in North Battleford, SK, to the late Rayme Corpe and Norma Rae Nelson.

He attended Lloydminister Comprehensive High School in SK. He continued his education at Lakeland College in Vermillion, AB. Mike moved onto a career in corrections services, with 16+ years at Bowden Institution as a Corrections Officer and just recently retired January, 2017.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Laurie Corpe; son, Lance Corpe (Jenn Corpe); grandkids: Cage and Taryn; daughter Amy Corpe (Logan Schrader); sister, Susan Ross; and brother Jim Corpe. He also had many nephews and nieces that he loved dearly.

Mike enjoyed hiking, camping, fishing, hockey, baseball and attending auctions. He also always made sure to have multiple toys, like a boat, a quad and skidoo.

Mike enjoyed the simple things in life, such as: community involvement, spending time with family, and being outdoors.

Mike was a beloved member in the community for his 20+ years of leadership roles in various childrens programs such as The 18th Morrisroe Boy Scouts, hockey and baseball teams.

A celebration of life will be held at the Red Deer Legion (2810 Bremner Ave., Red Deer) on Friday, March 24th, from 1:00 - 4:30 pm.
