LANE Mildred Anne Lane of Bowden, Alberta passed away on March 7, 2007 at the age of 64 years. Mildred was born Dec. 23, 1942 in Sydney, Nova Scotia and at an early age relocated to North Sydney with her family. Mildred received her early education at St. Joseph's School and then moved to Halifax where she became a Certified Nursing Assistant. In the fall of 1960, while she was in Halifax that she met her husband to be, Lloyd and then moved to Calgary, Alberta, where she and Lloyd were married on Sept. 21, 1963. In 1964 they welcomed a son, Raymond, and in 1966 another son, Jeffrey. Unfortunately, both sons passed away at early ages. In 1968, they were overjoyed with the addition of Colleen to their lives. Mildred worked in many interesting and diverse occupations while in Calgary. In 1979, Lloyd's employment brought them to Bowden, Alberta where they have resided to present. Mildred became very involved in the community which led to her election as a Town Councilor. She subsequently has served over 23 consecutive years as a Town Councilor for the Town Of Bowden. She served on numerous committee's throughout her career as a councilor, and has made many lifelong friends. In 2005, Mildred was extremely honored to receive the Alberta Centennial Medal in recognition of her dedicated work within the community that she loved. Mildred will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Lloyd, daughter, Colleen and grand-children, Jeffray and Danielle. Mildred is survived by her husband of 43 years, Lloyd; daughter, Colleen; grandchildren Jeffray and Danielle; brother, Alex (Elizabeth) Morrison, brother, Ron (Judy) Morrison, brother, Peter (Shirley) Morrison, sister, Dorothy (Gordon) Blaikie, sister, Mary (Lewis) Bonnell, brother Paul (Susan) Morrison and brother, Alan Morrison. She is also survived by one aunt, Effie Walker and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces, numerous friends and extended family. She was predeceased by two sons, Raymond and Jeffrey and her parents, Alexander and Agnes Morrison. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331 - 29th Street N.W., Calgary, AB. T2N 4N2. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Metcalf Funeral Chapel on Friday, March 9, 2007 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bowden Lions Hall (2012 19th Ave.) with Rev.
