MORGAN (Nee: Norman) In Loving Memory of Violet Morgan Violet was born February 28,1918 in Donalda, Alberta and passed away in the "Lacombe Care Center" Sunday, December 17, 2006. Violet was the youngest child of "John & Ida Norman". Violet was survived by her only loving son, Rodney Wallace Oberg - (wife: Pauline Oberg), one Granddaughter Catherine Pittman (husband: James Pittman), two Great Granddaughters Carly & Holly Pittman. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Violet was predeceased by her parents (John & Ida Norman), four brothers (Alver, Aake, Ragnar & Swen), three sisters (Agnes, Greta & Ina). Violet's schooling was in her home town of Donalda, Alberta. She'd begun work at an early age in the area of food services in the "Blue Mill Coffee Shop" in Donalda, Alberta. Violet married Edolf Oscar Oberg, November 27, 1935. From this marriage came Violet's pride & Joy, her son Rodney. Violet & Edolf parted shortly after and Edolf deceased in May 19, 1961. Life's path led Violet to a housekeeping position on Carl Oberg's farm. A loving mother to her son, Violet took on a motherly roll to Carl's daughters (Eleanor & Margorie) who's mother had passed away when they were young. Violet pitched in with other farm chores as well. Violet had left the farm in 1965 and Carl deceased in 1966 and was dearly missed. Violet paired up with her sister Greta in the concession business. They'd worked together in Wizard Lake, Edmonton Ski Club and Maligne Lake. Violet met Richard Morgan in 1970 and they'd lived in Taber, Alberta. Here she'd worked at the Sugar Beet Refinery and a Restaurant as well. He predeceased her in 1978. Violet met her true match and devoted companion, Ronald Gompf in 1979. They'd gone to Red Lake, Ontario where she'd worked in a concession and Ron worked in a mine. Later Ron found work with Noble Blades in Nobleford, Alberta. Nobleford would be where they'd make a home together until his passing in January of 2004. With her loving companion gone Violet resided briefly at the Lethbridge Hospital & St. Michael's Care Center in Lethbridge. Desiring her to be closer to family she'd resided a short while in Rimbey Care Center before finally residing in Lacombe Care Center where she'd be closer to her son, daughter and family until her passing December 17, 2006. Violet a mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother with a loving and generous personality & heart. She was enjoyed for her humor, her happy little tunes she'd sing. Whether it be family or friends she'd enjoy their company, indulge in a good game of cards or board games. She'd also been a avid curler and enjoyed sharing the sport with her son. Violet enjoy all the old tunes, she'd start tapping her feet and loved to dance. In this she found her true dance partner in Ron. Memories with Violet will be cherished by her son Rodney, daughter-in-law Pauline, Granddaughter Cathy and husband Jim and her Great Granddaughters Carly and Holly. Funeral Services will be held from Wilson's Funeral Chapel, 6120 Highway 2A, Lacombe on Thursday, December 21, 2006 at 2:30 PM. Cremation will follow.
