SHAW Morris It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Morris Shaw on April 8, 2007. He was the beloved husband of Carolyn Shaw with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. Morris was born on September 14, 1924 to Norris and Carrie Shaw and lived his entire life-childhood, working life and retirement on the farm northeast of Lacombe. He had been in failing health but was content in his home until his passing. He received his education in Central School and Lacombe High School. In his youth he played several instruments and along with his brother Norris played in a country dance band. He was a member of the Lacombe Rotary Club and numerous farm organizations, curling and golf clubs and a Charter member of the Lacombe Flying Club. He took time for adventures including flying his own airplane, sailing the catamaran ,traveling in the motor home and fishing anywhere and everywhere. He enjoyed many winters in Arizona. He cared deeply for his family and took great pride in their achievements. Morris will be fondly remembered by his wife Carolyn and his children, son Gary and Joan (Corey and Laura Lee, Megan Shaw); son Craig and Henri (Jason and Sherri Carrit, Mary Lee and Rob McCrea); daughter Joan and Mark Ree (Matthew, Marla and Kari); daughter Gail and Gordon Wyatt (Lauren, Ian and Graeme) and great grandchildren, Shelbie and Sydney McCrae, Samantha and Jace Carrit; his brother Harvey (Audrey), sisters-in-law, Jeanne Shaw and Irma Nilsson (Byron) and the extended Shaw and Moore families. He was predeceased by his parents, Norris and Carrie and brothers Gardie and his twin brother, Norris and infant great grandchild, Evan Mathew Shaw. A memorial service will be held at Wilson's Funeral Chapel Lacombe on Friday April 13, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Autism Society of Edmonton Area #101, 11720 Kingsway Ave., Edmonton, AB T5G OX5 or the charity of the donors choice.
