Mrs. Florence Theresa Massie (nee Gowan) passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Friday, January 31, 2014 surrounded by her family and friends at the age of 75 years. She leaves to mourn her husband Peter of 43 years; her children, Theresa (Kevin) Sonnenberg, Colleen Pawluk, Maureen (Garth) Black, Goldwin (Jennifer) Massie and Gordon (April) Massie, Shae Lynn (Darcy) Gerbrandt and Tera Sjoberg, Colebe (Tracy) Massie and her grandchildren, Matthew, Bradley, Leeanne, Ryah, Caleb, Amanda, Gabby, Sade, Joel, Lance, Logan, Jordyn and Benjamin. She was predeceased by her parents Goldwin and Annie Gowan and her son Goldwin Wyatt Massie. Florence was born in Swift Current, Saskatchewan on October 22, 1938. Please join the family in a Celebration of Florence's Life at St. Leonards- on-the-Hill Anglican Church, 4241 - 44th Street, Red Deer on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Gary Sinclair, officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillsdown Cemetery, Red Deer County. If desired donations may be made directly to the Kerry Wood Nature Centre, 6300 45 Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 3M4 or the ACW in care of St. Leonards-on-the-Hill Anglican Church.
