MULLIN

September 10, 2008

MULLIN May Lorraine It is with great sadness that the family of May "Lorraine" Mullin announce her passing on September 5, 2008. Lorraine was born in Vancouver, B.C. on May 15, 1929 but spent most of her life in Central Alberta. While working in Olds she met Robert “Guy” Mullin, the love of her life. They were married September 26, 1947 in Red Deer where they lived and raised their family until 1958. They then moved to Ponoka until 1961, when they returned to Red Deer to stay. Over the years she worked as an office manager for her husband's business, Guy's Sheet Metal and as a secretary for MAC Lumber. She also owned and operated GLM Ornamental Cement with her son, Rob. Lorraine spent countless days in her flowerbeds and garden. She loved to camp and fish with friends and family in the Clearwater River area. She was a very talented lady who created amazing crafts, decorated beautiful cakes and was very handy with a hammer, whether building or renovating houses with her husband, building furniture for her children and grandchildren or building birdhouses for the yard. Genealogy was also a passion. Lorraine was predeceased by her husband Guy in 1985; her sister Nola Gauthier; and her brother Russell (Bud) Nichol. Her family meant the world to her. She is survived by her daughter Sandra (Sam) Bahler; her sons Robert (Mary-Lou) Mullin and Gary (Kathy) Mullin. She will also be missed by her seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and several close cousins. The family extends special thanks to the staff at Bethany Care in Sylvan Lake; to Darcy and Natasha from "Nannies for Grannies"; to Dr. Niemand and to the caring staff at the Red Deer Regional Hospital. A Celebration of Lorraine's Life will be held at the Chapel of the Sylvan Lake Funeral Home on Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Kim Jin Woo officiating. A private family interment will be held. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations in Lorraine's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
