Muriel CURRY

February 9, 2007

CURRY Muriel Lorraine It is with deep sorrow and fond memories that we say farewell to "Muriel" who passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Red Deer Hospice on Tuesday, February 6, 2007. She fought a long courageous battle with cancer. Muriel is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Pack from Fort Saskatchewan, AB and Myrna Henderson (Ian) from Red Deer, AB. Her memory will also be cherished by one brother, Ivan Curry (Jean) from Comox, B.C., sister-in-law, Donna Curry from Fort Saskatchewan, AB as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Muriel was predeceased by her brother Keith in 2001 and her dear friend Harvey Anderson in 2003. Muriel was born in Kenton, MB, grew up in Sherridon, MB and graduated from the Misericordia Hospital School of Nursing in Winnipeg, and made a lifetime career in the nursing profession. Stompin Tom Conner's song, "I've Been Everywhere Man", accurately reflects all the places that Muriel worked for the last 40 years: Sherridon, Edmonton, Wetaskiwin, Abbotsford, Powell River, Vancouver, Prince George, Calgary, Red Deer, Saskatoon, and finally back to Red Deer. Muriel loved to travel and had some great travel adventures. She was a competitive bowler, liked curling, followed golf as her favorite sport and was exceptionally proud of her "Hole In One" in 2000. Muriel also enjoyed the fellowship of social bridge. A Memorial Service for the Late Muriel Curry will be held at Sunnybrook United Church, #12 Stanton Street, Red Deer, AB on Friday, February 9th, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations remembering the life of Muriel Curry may be made to the Red Deer Hospice Society, 99 Arnot Avenue, Red Deer, AB T4R 3S6.
