SAGAN Nick Feb. 6, 1948 - Aug. 15, 2008 Nick Sagan of Red Deer passed away suddenly on Friday, August 15th, 2008 at the age of sixty years. He is survived by his mother Molly Sagan, his daughter Barbara, his son Neil (Monica) and two granddaughters, Cali and Ella. He is also survived by his brother Jim (Arlene) and nieces Nicole (Matt Carter), Rebecca (Ashif Merani) and Justine (Grant Kaiser). Nick was predeceased by his father Peter. He was born in Smoky Lake but moved with his parents to the Wimborne area at a young age where he completed most of his education and was involved in community hockey and baseball. Nick’s size and strength was an intimidating factor against any team he played. Nick developed a keen interest in cars and in modifying them to go faster. He also was an avid sledder both racing and trail riding. Nick worked for many years as a trucker both on his own and later for Border Paving. His trucking career was cut short by a debilitating health issue in 1997. The subsequent years were spent working at restoring his health and pursuing his sledding. A Celebration of Nick's Life will be held Thursday, August 21, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 67A Street, Red Deer.
