PITZEL Nita Gretta Pitzel of Bentley passed away on August 11, 2008 at the age of 81 years. Mom was born in Oromocto, New Brunswick on October 8, 1926. As a small child she moved to Alberta and later married a military man, Reuben Pitzel. Together they lived in Ontario & Alberta. Upon Reuben's retirement from the Armed Forces, they lived in several places across Alberta before mom settled in Bentley, Alberta. Mom lived a very productive life, worked hard, and gave of herself freely. She was an excellent mother, friend, aunt, sister, grandmother & great grandmother and always had an ear and was always willing to offer advice. Predeceased by her husband Reuben (Bert), she is survived by her children; Stan Pitzel, Lea Hebert, Yvonne Walsh, Joe (Joani) Pitzel, Ken (Linda) Pitzel and Jim Pitzel, 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, Ted & Dianne as well as many other dearly regarded friends. A reception for family and friends in memory of Nita Pitzel will be held at the Town Hall Drop-In Center, 50th Ave. & 50th St., Bentley on Friday, August 15, 2008 at 5:00 PM.
