MEDLAND

Noreen Medland of Red Deer, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Hospital on June 4, 2012 at the age of 83. She is lovingly remembered by her three daughters; Cathy (Tony) Odenbach of Red Deer, Barbara (Martin) Quinn of Cochrane and Harmony (Ken) Wolgemuth of Edmonton. She is also survived by her sister; Joan (Bill) Cook of Kingston and her brother; Joseph (Donna) Coyle of Montreal. Fondly known as "Nana" to her five grandchildren; Zac Bremner of Canmore, Jeff Odenbach of Edmonton, Connor Odenbach of Red Deer and Brandon and Nik Wolgemuth of Edmonton, and one great-grandchild; Asia Beaudet of Wakefield, Quebec. Noreen was predeceased by her husband; Russell Medland and her sister; Ann McAvoy. Noreen was an avid lifelong Volunteer in the communities that she lived, including St. John Ambulance and The Arden Theatre in St. Albert, the Canmore Health Unit and Kerry Wood Nature Centre in Red Deer. Noreen’s entire working career was with the water utility department for the city of St. Albert. Noreen enjoyed travelling in her retirement years. She loved visiting countries and getting as close to the local experience as possible. Among her favourites were trips to Equador and the Galapagos Islands, Indonesia, Thailand, Cuba and Costa Rica. At Noreen’s request no funeral service will be held. If friend's so desire, memorial contributions can be made to, Canadian Red Cross, PO Box 4050, Stn.
