GRANT Norma Norma Grant passed away peacefully on August 23, 2008 at the age of 89 years. Norma was born in 1919 and grew up on the family farm southwest of Sylvan Lake. All of her life she was very creative and artistic and excelled at knitting, sewing, and various forms of painting. As a young adult she was adventuresome and enjoyed telling stories about working on the Alaska Highway. Norma married Alex and they were together for over 50 years. Alex enjoyed a career in the Air Force and together they lived in France, Cold Lake, Edmonton, and then they retired in Sylvan Lake. Norma and Alex had two sons Kent and Kim. Norma was very proud of her sons and their many accomplishments. Norma's son Kent and wife Lynn had two sons Ryan and Scott. Norma loved Ryan and Scott and was so proud of them; they in turn adored her. Norma was a quiet, elegant lady who touched many people throughout her life. She will be sadly missed but we are grateful that she is at peace. Norma will be forever remembered by her sons: Kent and wife Lynn, and Kim and his wife Rosemarie. She is also remembered by her grandsons Ryan and Scott. As well Norma will be remembered by her loving sister Rose Moody and Rose's children Craig Moody and Lisa Hoey, and Lisa's husband Neil and their son Jordan. Lisa was like a daughter to Norma and Norma had a special place in her heart for Rose, Craig, Lisa, Neil and Jordan. Norma was predeceased by her dear husband Alex and her wonderful brother Elmer Nielsen whom she so loved. At Norma's request a graveside service will be held at a later date.
