Norman Stuart Dobinson

Norman "Norm" Dobinson passed away peacefully on December 25, 2022, at the Foothills Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born November 5, 1947, in Red Deer, AB to the late Stuart and Marjorie Dobinson. Norman grew up on the family farm
in the Satinwood/Haynes area where they raised Black Angus cattle. The family eventually moved permanently to Red Deer where he married the love of his life, Beatrice "Bea" Gauld, and they raised their family.
Norman was a devoted husband of 50 years to Bea and took great pride in taking care of his family. They loved to spend their summers camping and gathering with family and friends, especially at "The Land" when he wasn't supporting his children in their sports.
During his hard-working years, he was employed with Master Feeds, Macdonalds Consolidated and Alpha/Saputo. He loved driving the milk truck as he was able to stay connected with the farming community.
As a sports enthusiast, he enjoyed playing and watching many sports. In his retirement, he dedicated his time to his grandchildren's sports trying to never miss a game. He travelled many miles watching his grandchildren play ball and hockey whenever possible. He was exceptionally proud of them all.
Norman was predeceased by his parents, his brother Lylle and in-laws Vernon and Amy Gauld.
He is survived by his loving wife Bea, son Blaine (Nicole O'Brien) and daughter Kari (Scott Spiller). His three grandchildren Kayl, Ryder and Hayley will miss their "Papa Norm" and all his loving support and hugs. Norman is also survived by many family members and friends that he cared about deeply.
The Dobinson family would like to thank EMS personnel and the medical staff at both the Red Deer and Foothills Hospitals. Their dedication to the care, treatment and investigation of Norman's illnesses is greatly appreciated. A special thank you to Dr. Katherine Atchison who has always gone above and beyond.
Cremation will take place and there will be a celebration of life planned for January 14, 2023, at the Red Deer Curling Club from 1-4 p.m., with a tribute at 1 p.m.
Norm's request was to "have a big party".
