OELKE, 1919 - 2007 Mr. Marvin Everett Oelke of Red Deer, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2007 at the age of 87 years. Marvin was born on April 6, 1919 at Bow Island, Alberta. He lived most of his life in Red Deer and lived in the Central Alberta Area since 1953. Marvin worked as an Institutional Aide at the Michener Centre for many years. He enjoyed farming and had a hearty appetite. Marvin was a man of strong faith and active in the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Red Deer. Marvin will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered and cherished in the hearts of his family and dear friends. Marvin leaves to mourn his loss, his two sons, Kenneth Oelke and his wife, Linda-Lou of Calgary, Alberta and Allan Oelke and his wife, Mavis of Grande Prairie, Alberta; four grandchildren, Jimmy Oelke and Shauna Pittman of Calgary, Lora Wardill and Glen Oelke of Grande Prairie; three great grandchildren, Sheldon Pittman and Dwight Pittman of Calgary and Evan Oelke of Grande Prairie; his sisters, Dorothy Fisher of Olds, Alberta and Magdalena (Maggie) Works of Langley, British Columbia. Marvin was predeceased by his parents, William and Anna Marie Oelke. All are welcome to come and pay their respects one hour prior to the Funeral Service. A Public Funeral Service will be held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, McKenzie Road West, behind Leon's, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, January 26, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Alto-Reste Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta.
