OLINECK, Mrs. Sylvia Olineck, beloved wife of Mr. Orest Olineck of Red Deer, passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Thursday, May 11, 2006 at the age of 70 years. Sylvia was born on November 4, 1935 at Flin Flon, Manitoba. She was a loving and wonderful, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a very good friend. Sylvia was devoted to her family and especially loved her grandchildren. Sylvia lived in Flin Flon for many years before moving to Fort McMurray, Alberta, where she lived between 1968 and 1994. After her retirement, Sylvia spent her summers enjoying the prairies and winters were spent in the warmth of Arizona. She loved the lifestyle during her time in Arizona and enjoyed hiking, loved her water aerobics with the Silveridge water aerobics gals, visiting with her other Silveridge friends and neighbours, and the winter sun. Sylvia had a great love of the outdoors and one of her favorite pastimes was picking berries, particularly blueberry season. Sylvia will be very sadly missed but lovingly remembered and forever cherished in the hearts of her family and many dear friends. Sylvia leaves to mourn her loss, her loving husband, Orest of Red Deer, her son, Michael and his wife, Corrine Olineck of Sylvan Lake, Alberta and her precious grandchildren, Brant and Kierra. She will also be sadly missed by her brothers, Leo Pelletier and his wife, Helené of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta and Gerry Pelletier and his wife, Joan of Nordegg, Alberta, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Sylvia was predeceased by her parents, Armand and Martha Pelletier. A Public Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5508 - 48A Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Saturday, May 13, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. Cremation will follow at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. If desired, Memorial Donations in Sylvia's honour may be made directly to a Charity of the donor's choice.
