OMILON Mr. John Thomas Omilon, beloved husband of Mrs. Diana Omilon of Red Deer, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at the age of 64 years. John was born on September 13, 1940 at North Battleford, Saskatchewan. John was a strong, modest man who cared deeply for his family. He was very committed to his career with the City of Red Deer Electric, Light and Power Department, where he worked for thirty-one years. John was also a very skilled handyman who could fix anything and everything. He also enjoyed watching sports in his leisure time. John will be very sadly missed but lovingly remembered and forever cherished in the hearts of his family and dear friends. John leaves to mourn his loss, his loving wife, Diana, his sons; Curtis (Penny) Omilon and Richard Omilon, of Red Deer, Michael (Heather) Omilon of Calgary, Alberta and his grandchildren; Gina, Rowan, Amanda and Ryan. He will also be sadly missed by his two sisters, Sylvia Lipinski of North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Mary Ann (Leon) Charbonneau of Millet, Alberta, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. John was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Mary, two brothers, Bill and David and his father-in-law, Richard Harbus. Prayers will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820 – 45th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic Church, 3932 – 46th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Monday, July 18, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Alto-Reste Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta.
