ORR Mr. Harvey "Skipper" Edward Orr beloved husband of Mrs. Jessie (Betty) Orr of Blackfalds, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at the age of 75 years. Harvey was born in 1934 in the small Hamlet of Timeu, Alberta to Sadie and Sylvester Orr. Harvey then married the love of his life Betty and had two children, Jim and Jacki. Harvey began his career in the oilfield where he worked for Shell Oil for 15 years, then moving to Slave Lake, Alberta where he and Betty owned & operated a Home Hardware store for 19 years. From there they eventually moved to Creston, British Columbia where they enjoyed their Golden Years before settling in Blackfalds. Harvey touched the hearts of everyone he met and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife Jessie (Betty) Orr of Blackfalds, Alberta, a son, Jim (Sandra) Orr of Calgary, Alberta, a daughter, Jacki (Terry) Torraville of Blackfalds, Alberta, brothers, Dave, Trevor and Harvey's, three grandchildren, Dustin, Bradley, Chelsey and great grandson, Riley, many nieces and nephews and dear friends. Harvey is predeceased by his father Sylvester, mother Sadie, sisters Sadie and Jessie. A celebration of Harvey's life will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820-45th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. Cremation entrusted to Central Alberta Crematorium Ltd., Red Deer.
