Pat was born on November 20, 1932 to Ralph and Gertrude Hambly of Benalto, AB, where she was raised on the farm along with her three brothers. She married Jack Knowles in 1950, started a family, and after a few years in Regina, settled back to farm life just north of Benalto. She was a horse lover and was actively involved in Pony Club, 4-H, and the community, particularly the Evarts Ladies Club. She also loved to play piano, which she did regularly at church.
She enjoyed her garden and canning everything. Pat is survived by her sons Dean (Kathy) of Red Deer, AB and Brad (Irene) of Kelowna, BC; and daughter Shannon of Vimy, AB. She is also survived by her brothers Reg of Abbotsford BC and Terry (Evie) of Evarts, AB; along with her grandchildren Chad, Calder, Brooklynn, and Abbigail. Pat was predeceased by her brother Laverne and her grandson Marshal. Pat's family wishes to thank the very caring staff at Timberstone Mews for the excellent care they provided, and Meaningful Memorials Funeral Service for making this difficult time easier.
A memorial gathering will be held at Timberstone Mews on Saturday, December 14 at 1:30 pm. If friends so desire, a memorial donation may be made to the Red Deer Hospice Society, 99 Arnot Ave, Red Deer, AB T4R 3S6. Condolences for the family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net.
