It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Louise (Patty) Humphries, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Patty passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on August 15, 2023, at the age of 68. She had a courageous three-and-a-half-year battle with cancer. Patty was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Bernice Boon from Red Deer.
Patty was born in July of 1955 in Innisfail, Alberta. When she was 16 years old, she asked James (Jim) Nelson Humphries to the high school Sadie Hawkins Dance. Of course, Jim said yes. Four years later they were married and have spent the last 48 years together living and raising their family in Sherwood Park, Alberta.
As a mother, Patty was always there to support her children: Her oldest son Tom and his wife Heather; her daughter, Shawna; and her youngest son, Barry and his wife Michelle. She always enjoyed spending time with her family, she was always there when they needed her.
Patty got the most joy from her grandchildren: Taysen, Isabella, Mya & Sam. She loved family vacations, taking the kids back to school shopping, watching their sports and all the various pick-ups and drop-offs. She was always there to celebrate their achievements and watch them grow.
Patty's life was characterized by a positive attitude, her welcoming smile and unwavering loyalty to her friends and family. She was a ton of fun to be around and had an amazing sense of humour. She loved curling & golfing with friends, spending time in her gardens and family dinners.
Patty's legacy will continue to live on in the memories she left us with. We say goodbye to a very special lady who will be greatly missed.
In accordance with Patty's wishes, she chose to be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held on August 30 at 2:00 P.M. at Connelly-McKinley's Edmonton South Location, 4820 Meridian Street NW, Edmonton.
Rest in peace Patty, you will be missed and forever loved.
