VIALA

Paul

April 8, 1943 ~ Jan. 5, 2012

Our hearts were broken, and our lives forever changed, on January 5, 2012, by the sudden passing of our wonderful husband and father, Paul Viala, due to complications following a stroke. His family was everything to him, and he was everything to us. We will love him forever and will miss his twinkling brown eyes, wonderful smile, big hugs, quick wit and fun-loving nature. He was a kind and gentle man who was very proud of his family, and always a source of unconditional love and support. Paul loved the outdoors, was an accomplished guitarist, an electronics buff and enjoyed the technology of computers. Paul leaves to mourn his passing and treasure his memory his wife of 40 years, Marg; son Sean; daughter Erin (Daryl); mother Elisabeth; two sisters, Rita (Rick) and Michelle (Dan); brothers-in-law Pete, Bruce (Gwen) and Rob (Karen); sister-in-law Maureen (Tom); many nieces and nephews and their families; and countless friends acquired through his years of work in the oilpatch, assembling transformers, working as an automotive electrician in the emergency vehicle business and, in recent years, as a night desk clerk at the Lost Harbour Inn in Sylvan Lake. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5508 - 48A Avenue in Red Deer. Interment will follow at the Alto Reste Cemetery. Memorial donations in Paul's honor may be made directly to Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, #202, 5913 - 50 Avenue, Red Deer, AB T4N 4C4 or the Red Deer Regional Health Foundation - Bed Enhancement Program, 3942 - 50A Avenue, Red Deer, AB T4N 4E7.
