WATSON

Paul Glen

1944 - 2009

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Watson on Thursday, October 22, 2009 in Red Deer, AB. Paul will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife, Irene, his three daughters, Nancy, Dennise, and Karen, his mother, Fern and three siblings, Dave (Donna), Lynn (Jim) and Ian (Karin). Paul was born in St. Thomas, Ontario on July 11, 1944 and eventually made his way to Red Deer with his father (Stan), mother (Fern) and three siblings. In 1965, Paul moved to Calgary and began working for AGT as an Installer. It was during that time that he met his wife Irene and extended their family to include three daughters. In 1980, Paul and Irene moved their family back to Red Deer where they lived in a house constructed by himself, Ian and his father Stan. In 1995, Paul returned to Calgary to finish his career of 34 years with Telus (AGT) retiring in 1999. Paul and Irene returned to Red Deer to retire and remained there until his passing. Paul, always being mechanically inclined, could often be found constructing some project, either expanding his HO hobby train, building a canoe, or tinkering on a Land Rover. Paul's other passion including cycling. In the 1980's, Paul went on two bicycle trips, a shorter one with his brother Ian to Nanaimo, BC, and a second more ambitious one to his hometown St. Thomas, Ont. Paul always has a passion for trains. His favorite vacations always included hiking and camping in Kananaskis. His greatest passion of all was for the love of his family that was dearest to his heart. We will truly miss him. If desired, Memorial tributes may be made in Paul's name to the Alberta Cancer Society (c/o Central Alberta Cancer Center, Bag 5030, Red Deer, AB, T4N 6R2). Paul will be sincerely missed and always loved by those he touched in his lifetime. Condolences can be forwarded to the family by visiting www.reddeerfuneralhome.com
