His family moved to Kelfield then to Saskatoon where he met and married Jessie Bell in 1942. They lived and worked in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Fort St. John, B.C., and Edmonton until retiring to Gull Lake in 1983. Percy had a great curiosity about life and a zest for learning. Among his many interests were bird watching, photography, gardening, cooking, tree pruning, fishing, lapidary, bocci ball, garage saling, collecting, wildlife conservation, community improvement, and especially his family. His greatest joy was in sharing these interests with his friends and family. The people, the land, and the wildlife of the Gull Lake/Bentley area have held a special place in Percy's heart for the past 45 years. He had the "gift of the gab" and was a friend to everybody. A special thanks to Mary Brown and her staff for their loving care the past few months. Friends are invited to join the family for refreshments and a celebration of his life at the Bentley Drop-in Centre, 4818-50 Avenue on June 4, 2005 from 2-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bike Path Society, Box 179, Bentley, AB T0C 0J0 or the Kerry Wood Nature Centre, Red Deer.
