Perry Raymond Dancause of Red Deer passed away at the Red Deer Hospice on March 7, 2019 at the age of 61 years.

Perry was born in Edmonton to Raymond and Emily Dancause. He grew up in Stettler, Rimbey and then Red Deer. His greatest passion in life was aviation, starting flying lessons at a young age paid for by driving gravel truck for long hours. He started his 38 year career at Airspray as an apprentice engineer fixing B26 Air Tankers, which he later flew. As an avid pilot, he flew many types of airplanes, most recently the L188 Electra. With his strong background in both maintenance and flying he rose to Operations Manager and then Director of Flight Operations. Whenever needed Perry still continued to fly on fires and was an excellent firefighter and pilot.

Perry was predeceased by his father Raymond, and Gwen, the mother of his children.

Perry is survived by his beloved wife, Andrea, his son Steven (Aly), two stepsons Michael and Daniel, his daughter Jaclyn (Adrian) and his stepdaughter Kristin (Grant). Also survived by 3 grandchildren, Alayna, Gage, and Carter. He was looking forward to the birth of a new grandchild in June. Perry is also survived by his mother Emily and two sisters Elaine (Tom) and Janet and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held at The Sheraton hotel (3310 50 Avenue) on March 31 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to Red Deer Hospice Society, 99 Arnot Ave Red Deer, T4R 3S6. We are so very grateful to all the staff for their excellent care.
