May 29, 1936 - May 13, 2018
Peter C. Hansum, surrounded by family, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at the age of 81. Born May 29, 1936 in Sliedrecht, Holland, Peter was the 3rd of 5 siblings, (4 brothers and 1 sister).

The Hansum family immigrated to Canada in 1950 and settled in Sylvan Lake. On September 24, 1958, Peter married the love of his life, Dorothy, and called Red Deer home, where he raised, mentored and watched his family grow and was blessed with nearly 60 years of marriage. Peter's unfailing faith was the foundation of his life and he rarely missed an opportunity to share his passion and love for Christ with others.

Peter/Dad/Opa will be lovingly cherished by his wife, Dorothy; their children, John (Fran) Hansum, Debbie (John) Kranenborg, and Brenda Hansum; grandchildren, Angela (Travis) Mayner,  Michelle Hansum, Heather (Rylan) Boon, Cory Haller, Cody (Nicole) Haller, Cheryl Kranenborg, John (Ashley) Kranenborg, Christina (Ryan) Morris and David (Amanda) Kranenborg; and 10 great-grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by close relatives, Lennie Hansum, Tom Hansum, Casey (Renee) Hansum, Corry (Al) Badger, John (Wilma) Busaan, and Audrey (Bill) Noordhof, numerous nieces, nephews; his Scripture Search Group brothers and many dear friends and associates.

Peter was predeceased by his brother, Bruce Hansum; in-laws, Jim and Wilma Kluyt; John Drost; Teruka Hansum and nephew, Wade Drost.

The family would like to sincerely thank the doctors and nurses of the Red Deer Regional Hospital for taking excellent care of Dad during his short stay. A celebration of Peter's life will be held at Crossroads Church, 38105 Range Road 275 Red Deer, Alberta on Tuesday, May 22nd at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Peter's honor may be made directly to the Trans World Radio Canada www.twr.ca or Christians 4 Israel www.c4i.ca associations.
