Peter FEHR

FEHR Peter Fehr passed away at his home in Red Deer, AB. on Friday April 24, 2009 at the age of 76 years. He was born on December 24, 1932 at Mullingar, SK. Peter went to school in Hague, SK in a one room school house, moving to Alberta with his family in 1948. He took part of his electronics by correspondence and completed his studies at S.A.I.T. He also had completed his schooling for an electrician, working at Manville as an electrician for many years. Peter was very proud of the times he played lead and bass guitar with the Prairie Pals, entertaining for dances and performing weekly on CJOC, a radio show in Lethbridge. He loved going to jams and playing with "The Jammers" at lodges, nursing homes, etc. He also loved square dancing and round dancing. He also taught English as a second language and math for adults that needed help learning. He loved to volunteer his time. Peter leaves to mourn his wife, Portia, two daughters; Carri (Lee) Hayden and Naomi (Jason) Obenauer; grand- children, Lucas, Mason, Kade, Magenta and Cinamon; three grandsons, Norman (Marie) Winfield, Wade (Crystal) Winfield and Alan Winfield (Lisa); great-grandchildren, Samantha, Hope, Eric and Darian (and her mother Tasha); seven siblings, Agnes, Katherine, Erdman, Helen, Martin (Karen), Elizabeth and Christine. Peter was pre- deceased by granddaughter, Valentina Mei and brother, Herbie. Funeral Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 8 Keast Way, Red Deer, AB on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial tributes may be made in Peter's memory to the Children's Amputee Program (CHAMP) 7404 87th Street, Edmonton, AB T6C 3G3.
