PINDER JAN ELLEN November 2, 1950 - November 17, 2006 Jan passed away peacefully but not without one last fight, with her loving family at her side at the Palliative Care unit of St. Paul's Hospital. Jan fought a courageous battle against an inoperable brain tumor for 18 months. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 35 years, Jeff Pinder, and daughters Nicolle (Sheldon Felix) of Saskatoon, Natalie and Robin of Calgary, her special Grandson Alexander. She is also survived by her brother John Braithwaite and wife Noreen, nephew Colin (his wife Kim) and niece Kerri (Dan Mimnagh). She attended Victoria School, Nutana Collegiate, and received her secretarial diploma from the Technical Collegiate. On April 23, 1971, Jan married Jeff Pinder and they moved to Calgary where she started a long and illustrious career as a legal secretary and Para-legal with several law firms and ending with her retirement at MacPherson Leslie and Tyerman in Saskatoon. Jan truly loved her work, her fellow support staff and the lawyers. While living in Red Deer Jan became involved with the Kinette Club and held various executive positions and while living in Saskatoon has been active in the K-ette Club and again held many executive positions. Jan loved her girls and was always extremely involved in their swimming, gymnastics, dancing and music. She also loved the outdoors, above all her "special place" at Pike Lake also the Pinder family cottage at Waskesiu. She loved to get on her kayak and spend hours cruising up and down the lakes, often the family dog "Bud" on the front. Jan started her career of curling with the "Nutana girls" on Friday afternoons until her work commitments got in the way. She then joined the K-40 curling league and was an outstanding third for the last several years.
