POZSGAI

October 28, 2009

POZSGAI Mrs. Sylvia Pozsgai of Rimbey, Alberta passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, Red Deer on Friday, October 16, 2009 at the age of 75 years. Sylvia was born on July 16, 1934 in Minnehik, now known as Buck Lake, Alberta. She was the daughter of James and Agnes Micku of Buck Lake, and grew up on a farm. Sylvia never received much schooling, and at the age of 17 years, she was united in marriage to George Pozsgai. They raised their family of two daughters, Helen and Marilyn, and also farmed in the Buck Lake area. Sylvia enjoyed her time on the farm raising cattle, hogs and chickens, and she loved every one of her numerous pets that she had throughout the years. Sylvia and George also raised grain and hay crops, and she always got excited about planting time when she would put in an enormous vegetable garden which she shared with others. Sylvia took pleasure in reading books, watching T.V., playing cards, and special crafts like crocheting and knitting. She also often wrote down her feelings, as she was a kindred spirit, like the character in Anne of Green Gables! "Sylvia shared her caring heart with others in need, and was strong-willed to the very end. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends." Sylvia will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her beloved husband, George. His love for her will never die, and her spirit will always be near to his heart. She will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her daughters, Helen Taylor of Rocky Mountain House, and her daughter, Wanda Trusett; and Marilyn Dolman of Rimbey, and her three children, Jocelyn Dolman, Brad Dolman and Greg Dolman; as well as her treasured great grandchildren, Janet Trusett and Bryson Dolman. She is also survived by her brother, Lloyd (Anne) Micku of Buck Lake; her sisters, Esther Smella of Lethbridge; Margaret Surgenor of Drayton Valley; and Elaine McLean of Winfield; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. Sylvia was predeceased by her parents, James and Agnes Micku; her sons-in-law, Morris Trusett and Neil Dolman; her father-in-law, Steve Pozsgai; and her sister, Alice Irwin. A Public Funeral Service in Celebration of Sylvia's Life was held at the Rimbey Christian Reformed Church, Rimbey on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with the Reverend Bill Nieuwenhuis officiating. Interment followed in the Seigal Hill Cemetery, Buck Lake at 1:00 p.m. If friends desire, memorial tributes in Sylvia's Memory may be made directly to the Alberta Lung Association, Box 370, Red Deer, Alberta T4N 6G5.
