ANDERSON Rachael Patricia Anderson (1918-2006) passed away on August 23, 2006 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Center. She will be sadly missed but her memory is forever cherished by six children, 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; Carol (Murvin) Nicks, Myra (Jason) Hnatiuw, Sabrina (Trent) Woods; Shirley (Allan) Freed, Nels (Dena); Janine (James) Lim; Darren (Kris); Brendan, Ian, Ronan; Nellie (John) Radomsky, Alena; Patsy Amber, Brett, Cody, Ingrid (Ray) McBeth; Jordan and Riley Ostem, two brothers, John and Raymond Peterson, many nieces, nephews, relative and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and friend Albin in 1996 and sisters Ruth and Mae and brother Alfred. Pat grew up on the Peterson farm near Galahad, Alberta, attended the local school and graduated from high school in 1937. She fulfilled her strong desire to be a teacher at the Camrose Normal School and completed 4 wonderful years of teaching before marrying Albin Anderson. Their house was soon filled with fun, laughter, piano playing and farm work for everyone as the family grew to six children. After the youngest child was in school, Pat went back teaching and effectively raised the funds to ensure that all of her children were able to go to university. Besides her family, Pat enjoyed her garden, berry picking and spending time in nature. She was a leader in her church and volunteered throughout her lifetime both in the Merna community and Lacombe where she and Albin retired. Pat continued to help out at the Soup Kitchen and provide Meals-On-Wheels even at the age of 88. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church (south of Killam) on Monday, August 28 at 2:00 pm. Funeral arrangements by Fee and Sons, Killam, AB. 780-385-3642. If desired, donations may be made to The Voice of Prophecy or The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
