Ranald Parke White, born January 24th, 1931 in Edmonton, Alberta passed away peacefully in his eighty fourth year on December 29th, 2014 at Sylvan Lake, Alberta. Ranald was pre-deceased by his lovely wife, Lorna Geraldine, April 3, 2014. Ran was a jovial soul with a wonderful joy and love for life. Ranald will be missed by his children Cathy, Ranald Jr., Gail and Dean, and Duncan and Melinda. Granddad will also be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Cale and Lachlan (Cathy), Joshua, Ryan, Natasha, Jared (Ranald), Holly, Christina, Jacob, Melody (Gail and Dean), and Ethan and Emily (Duncan and Melinda). great-granddad will also be missed by his six great-grandchildren, Lucia, Joshua, Emma, Lincoln, Andrew and Kadance. Ranald is also survived by his dear brother Walder White and Nancy. Ranald was a School Principal for the Calgary Board of Education after he was a High School Teacher and strong advocate for Physical Education. One of his legacies with the Board was the initiation of the Environmental and Outdoor Education programs. He was the first President of the Provincial ATA Health and Phys. Ed Council. Since his retirement in 1989 and after moving to Sylvan Lake, Alberta, in 1997, he started up the Sylvan Lake Watershed Society, worked on racking up his points as a Grand Master Bridge player and became a lifetime Lion and tenor in his church choir.

Ranald was an active volunteer throughout his years in Calgary. He volunteered his time for the Red Cross participating in many ventures helping others. He was chairman of the Red Cross Water Safety Branch for a several years. Ran saw life as an ever-changing adventure, making sure to let everyone know of the special gifts that our world provides. He loved to fish the local streams, bird hunt, drive his car and explore.
