Beloved father, grandfather, and brother Ray Teierle passed away surrounded by his family in Innisfail, Alberta.
Ray was born in Beiseker, Alberta, to Edward John (b. 1913) and Lena (Hagel, b. 1915) Teierle and was the third of six children. Ray was raised on a farm near Burnt Lake and after he finished his schooling, he worked at Northwest Motors and then at Natco and Flint in the oilfield until his retirement.
He was married to Margaret Hoppus from 1962-1972 and they were blessed with their daughter Rhonda (b. 1963). Ray and his second wife Martha Foth (m. 1973-2000) had three boys: Shaun (b. 1973), Sheldon (b. 1975), and Michael (b. 1985).
Ray enjoyed camping, working on vehicles, and flying radio controlled model airplanes. He was also well known for his innovative projects, funny nicknames, and practical jokes, which will be deeply missed.
After being diagnosed with lung cancer in early 2020, Ray continued to live independently until May 12, 2021 when he was admitted to Innisfail Hospital. The memory of Ray's spirited independence will be cherished forever by his loved ones.
Ray was predeceased by his brothers Dale Teierle (1945-1973) and Leroy Teierle (1942-1978); his parents Edward John Teierle (1913-1979) & Lena (Hagel) Teierle (1915-1989); and his sister Janice Byrt (1947-2013).
He is survived by his sister June Sailer of Rocky Mountain House; his brother Patrick Teierle of Red Deer; his daughter Rhonda (Nelson) Lindquist of Fort Fraser, B.C.; his 3 sons Shaun (Allison) Teierle of Penhold, AB, Sheldon (Laurel) Teierle of Penhold, AB, and Micheal (Jennifer Miller) Teierle of Calgary, AB; his 6 grandchildren Ryan Madrigga, Elizabeth (Stephen) Bomberger, Ainsley Teierle, Alton Teierle, Victoria Teierle, and Hudson Teierle; 2 step grandchildren Amanda (Charlie) Hampton and Brittany Lindquist.
One great grandchild Cameron Bomberger, and 5 step great grandchildren as well as his cousins, nieces and nephews.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private graveside service will be held at Horn Hill Cemetery on Friday, June 4, 2021. In honour of Ray, donations can be made to Innisfail Acute Care, 5023 42 St., Innisfail, AB T4G 1A9. Please mark donation as "In Memory of Ray Teierle."
