RAYMOND 1921 - 2007 Mr. Vernon George "Mike" Raymond of the Lockhart District, Alberta passed away at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre - Long Term Care on Monday, May 7, 2007 at the age of 85 years. Mike was born on July 9, 1921 in Bentley, Alberta to Verna and George Raymond. The family moved to the Lockhart area when he was about 7 years old. Mike was united in marriage to Ruth Simpson, and together they farmed in the Lockhart District for the sixty years that they were married. Mike will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Ruth; his daughters, Colleen (Bob) Laidler; and Joanne (Roy) Berg; as well as his cherished grandchildren, Lorry, Lane (Tina) Moller; Robert and Chad Laidler; Tracy (Darcy) Strueby; and Shannon (Trisha) Berg; in addition to his great granddaughter, Sarah Moller. He will also be greatly missed by his sisters, Norma Bushfield; and Gail (Leonard) Skjonsberg; and many friends and other relatives. Mike was predeceased by his father, George in 1927; his mother, Verna in 1959; his brothers, Pat in 1962 and Marvin in 1961; and his granddaughter, Michelle Rae Berg on June 6, 1978. With respect for Mike’s wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer.
